It was a great time; lots of folks turned out, the weather was terrific and in general just a great time. Boy, did I lean a lot. We did it all ourselves! Gail recorded her tracks at home and then got them to me. I then put on my tracks and did the mix. The CD did turn out as well as I would have liked but by doing most of the work ourselves we learned how to get a better recording, how to mix it better etc. I took the final CD over to a friends house (great recording and mixing techniques) and he put the final touch to it. He leveled the sound – that’s where I found out my recording levels for the most part are too low and I need to record when it is the MOST quiet. All in all it was fun – after the fact.

We are now working on a full band CD which should be a BIG learning experience. We will probably get someone to do the final mix and master for us. I hope to have it done by summer.
