Welcome
We’re the Stringfield Band from the beautiful Ozarks. We play mostly old time music with a bit of bluegrass, a smidgen of Celtic and a pinch of originals.
The band consists of Gail Morrissey on hammered dulcimer, Victoria Johnson on hammered dulcimer, mandolin, guitar and YES she’s learning the fiddle, Susan Smith on keyboard, Barry Smith on guitar and mandolin and our friend Dennis McBride is playing on the bass.
Stringfield is a truly unique band and comes in many variations. Gail and Victoria form a hammered dulcimer duet. They have played at festivals, local events, weddings and have traveled to Japan to perform. They also perform as a member of the full band with Barry Smith on guitar, Susan Smith on keyboard and Dennis McBride on bass. Victoria also plays guitar, mandolin and the fiddle.
Victoria Johnson has won 1st place at the Oklahoma State Hammered Dulcimer contest and also the 2002 Southwest Regionals, Mt. View Arkansas. Gail Morrissey has also won 1st place in the 2006 Southwest Regional Hammered Dulcimer contest and finished in the top 5 at the National Contest at Winfield Kansas.
